Sarika Shah-Sekhon is a dedicated hospitalist and nocturnist specializing in primary care and internal medicine. Her primary responsibilities involve managing comprehensive patient assessments and coordinating admissions across various departments, including medical, mental health, and intensive care units. She ensures timely and accurate diagnoses and treatments and coordinates care among specialists. This collaborative approach significantly improves patient outcomes, reduces hospitalization durations, and enhances communication among healthcare providers.

Currently, Dr. Shah-Sekhon holds several key positions across multiple healthcare institutions. She serves as an Outpatient Internal Medicine Clinician at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in Potsdam and provides inpatient and telehealth services through Sekhon Allied Health. She also fulfills a crucial role as Medical Director at Massena Rehabilitation Center and Plattsburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Dr. Shah-Sekhon co-founded Sarika Diversified, LLC, a medical data processing and billing company based in Montreal, Canada. Her research activities include significant contributions to studies on immunogenetics and immunosuppression at Harvard University’s School of Medicine Immunobiology Research Center. She has also been involved in coronary health improvement research at Loma Linda University, focusing on lifestyle interventions.

Dr. Shah-Sekhon is a member of prestigious organizations, including the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and Society of Hospital Medicine. She has certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Her academic background is solid. She has a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from McGill University and a Doctorate of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Norwalk Hospital, affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Shah-Sekhon's commitment extends beyond her professional duties; she actively supports Child Haven International and participates in community health initiatives such as Walk with a Doc. Born in Cornwall, Ontario, in 1977, Dr. Sarika Shah-Sekhon is a respected figure in the medical community, recognized for her profound dedication to advancing medical practice and community health.

She practices Internal Medicine at Rochester Regional Health, with clinical locations in Gouverneur and Ogdensburg, NY. She is also connected with North Star Health Alliance and serves as a Clinical Supervisor for Advanced Practice Providers at Starline Medical Services. She has more than 16 years of experience in healthcare and has built her expertise in serving rural communities, including Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Plattsburg, and Massena.

Dr. Shah-Sekhon's contributions go beyond the immediate care of patients. She helped found The Handprint Project, a program designed to ensure that young people have equal opportunities in education, community service, and social activities.

In addition, Dr. Sarika Shah-Sekhon holds medical licenses in New York and Connecticut, has a DEA X Registration, and is board-certified by the American Board of Physician Specialties.
